The 7 Ingredients — Science & Doses
Standardised Corn Leaf Extract · Patented by Unigen Inc.
What is Maizinol?
Maizinol® (designation UP165) is a patented, standardised extract derived from the leaves of Zea mays (corn/maize). It is the lead active ingredient in Night Reboot and the component with the strongest direct clinical evidence for deep sleep support.
How does it work?
Maizinol does not introduce exogenous melatonin. Its bioactive compounds bind to melatonin receptors — particularly the MT2 receptor — with approximately 4x higher affinity than standard supplemental melatonin, supporting your body's own melatonin biosynthesis pathway rather than replacing it.
Clinical evidence
Two independent clinical trials, neither funded by Reincarn or Zandra Life Sciences:
Double-blind, placebo-controlled. 45 participants, 4 weeks at 250mg. Results: up to +38% more N3 deep sleep time, up to 49% improvement in sleep quality scores, up to 36% reduction in salivary cortisol. Published in Antioxidants, 2023. PMC9889011 ↗
Triple-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled. 80 participants. Conducted by KGK Science, Canada. Confirmed improvements in total sleep time and sleep efficiency at 250mg. Published in Food Science & Nutrition, 2026.
Note: These trials evaluated UP165 as a standalone ingredient. The complete 7-ingredient Night Reboot formula has not been tested in a single combined clinical trial. Each remaining ingredient is independently dosed at or above published clinical study levels.

Amino Acid · Highest dose in the formula
What does Glycine do?
At 3,000mg, Glycine supports a reduction in core body temperature — one of the primary physiological cues that initiates sleep onset and promotes progression into deeper sleep stages. It also modulates NMDA receptor activity in the central nervous system, supporting mental calm at bedtime.
Bannai, M. & Kawai, N. (2012). Oral glycine at 3,000mg was associated with subjective improvements in sleep quality and reduced next-day fatigue. Published in Journal of Pharmacological Sciences. PubMed ↗
Chelated Form · Higher absorption than Oxide
Why Bisglycinate specifically?
Night Reboot uses Magnesium Bisglycinate — a chelated form bound to glycine — rather than cheaper Magnesium Oxide. Bisglycinate is substantially better absorbed and is gentler on the digestive system.
What does Magnesium do in a sleep formula?
Magnesium is a cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions. It regulates NMDA receptors and supports GABAergic activity — the brain's primary inhibitory pathway associated with relaxation and sleep onset. Research published in the Journal of Research in Medical Sciences (Abbasi et al., 2012) found that magnesium supplementation was associated with improvements in sleep quality, sleep onset, and early morning awakening. PubMed ↗
Amino Acid · Found naturally in green tea
How does L-Theanine support sleep?
L-Theanine promotes alpha-wave brain activity — the relaxed, alert mental state that precedes restful sleep — and modulates excitatory neurotransmitter activity. Research in Nutrients (Hidese et al., 2019) found that 200mg L-Theanine was associated with improvements in sleep quality and reductions in sleep disturbance. PubMed ↗
The 200mg dose in Night Reboot is the same dose used in published research. Unlike the tiny amounts found in a cup of green tea (~10–20mg), this is a meaningful functional dose.
Prunus cerasus · Tryptophan pathway
Why Tart Cherry in a sleep formula?
Tart Cherry contains quercetin and chlorogenic acid that inhibit indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) — the enzyme that breaks down tryptophan. By preserving tryptophan availability, Tart Cherry supports the synthesis pathway: Tryptophan → 5-HTP → Serotonin → Melatonin.
Howatson et al., 2012. Tart Cherry supplementation was associated with significant increases in urinary melatonin levels and improvements in sleep quality and duration. Published in European Journal of Nutrition. PubMed ↗
Valeriana wallichii DC. · Indian Valerian · FSSAI permitted
What is Tagara Root?
Tagara (Valeriana wallichii) is the Indian species of Valerian, classified as a medicinal herb in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia and recognised by FSSAI ↗ as a permitted ingredient in food supplements. It is distinct from European Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) commonly found in Western sleep supplements.
How does it support sleep?
Tagara root contains valerenic acid and related compounds that are thought to modulate GABA-A receptor activity — the same pathway as many prescription sleep medications, but via a gentler, non-sedative mechanism. It is used traditionally in Ayurvedic practice to support a calm nervous state before rest.
Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate · Active coenzyme form
Why P5P instead of standard Vitamin B6?
Night Reboot uses Vitamin B6 in its active coenzyme form — Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) — rather than the common but less bioavailable Pyridoxine Hydrochloride. P5P is the form the body actually uses at the enzymatic level; standard pyridoxine must be converted by the liver before it becomes functional.
What is B6's role in the formula?
Vitamin B6 (P5P) is an essential cofactor in the conversion of tryptophan → 5-HTP → serotonin → melatonin. Including it in active form ensures this final step in the melatonin synthesis pathway is not rate-limited by conversion inefficiency.
Why Does Reincarn Night Reboot Contain Zero Melatonin?
Reincarn Night Reboot deliberately excludes melatonin. This is a clinical decision, not a cost decision.
Supplemental melatonin introduces a hormone from outside the body. Regular use can suppress your body's own melatonin production, create receptor desensitisation over time, and cause next-day grogginess — particularly at the 3–10mg doses commonly sold in India. Melatonin is primarily effective for circadian rhythm reset (jet lag, shift work), not for improving deep sleep architecture.
Night Reboot instead supports your body's own melatonin production through Maizinol UP165 (MT2 receptor binding), Tart Cherry Extract (tryptophan preservation), and Vitamin B6 P5P (melatonin synthesis cofactor). The result is physiologically normal melatonin — produced by your own body — rather than artificially elevated levels from an external source.

Is Every Ingredient at a Clinical Dose?
Yes. Every ingredient in Night Reboot is formulated at or above the dose used in published, peer-reviewed research. Total actives: 4,602mg per serving.
Many sleep supplements on the Indian market include ingredients like Magnesium, L-Theanine, or Tart Cherry at a fraction of their studied doses — a practice called fairy dusting, where an ingredient appears on the label but in quantities too small to have any documented effect. Night Reboot is formulated to avoid this entirely.
